Ok, so we are sooo behind on our P52!! We have let life seep in the cracks and drown out our dedication to date nights. But, we finally had one on Monday, and well, we had to, because it was our 2nd Anniversary.
I had this great idea in my head. Treasure hunt. Burying a treasure map that points Kevin to clues and eventually to a romantic picnic on the beach near downtown. Ha! This did not happen.
Instead, I spent the day taking our daughter to art camp, going to the grocery store, picking our daughter up from art camp, and anxiously waiting to hear from my hubby about how his physical fitness test for our local Police Department was going (yes, the test was on our anniversary and he was gone from 8-5!)
So as the day wound down and I realized I hadn't done any burying of treasure let alone any other planning, I decided we would just go to Bistro D'Asia, one of our favorite haunts for delicious food. It was so wonderful, as always.
After dinner, I thought, let's go bowling, but it turned out that after running 1.5 miles and sprinting 300 meters, hubby didn't feel like doing much more movement-intensive activities. So we drove around, talking about what we should do. No movies I liked were out (I'm VERY picky about movies...don't even ask me about Twlight...please) and playing pool sounded boring. So where did we end up? Olive Garden!
We had dessert there, not another meal. I had zapoli and Kevin had black tie chocolate cake. It was a sweet ending to our totally planned then completely unplanned date.
We are going to try to be more consistent, but time will tell if we can be. Between undergrad school for him, grad school for me, 2nd grade for our daughter and Joshua's ever-growing personality, life seeps in quite a bit.
I hope everyone has a very happy Saint Patrick's Day and may you have a lot of luck in your marriage this year!
