Project 52, Date #2: The Grinch's Heart Grew Three Sizes That Date

**Just a note, when I'm treated on a date, I'll be the only one blogging. Kevin is not really into the whole blogging thing, so his short reviews on my dates are about as good as it gets :)**

"We're going all the way to Port A?" I said in exaperation.

This weekend, I was a grinch. Joshua, our 9 month old, has been teething like crazy. This has caused him to stay up late, wake up constantly, and overall to stomp on my nerves a bit.

It is safe to say that I have been in a bit of a complaining mood rather than having a grateful spirit. So, when I was at the boiling point of my grinchiness, nearly turning green and gluing antlers to our Dachshund, is when Kevin says "We're going to Port A for our date tonight" O_o

After a bit of grumbling about having to go so far, and on a school night for Kaitlyn, I decided to shut my trap and go.

We pulled up to this awesome looking restaurant called Beaches out on Port A. The best way to describe this place is with my hubby's words; "It's a country themed surf place that serves amazing barbecue"

And was it ever amazing! The food was delicious. Their brisket was the most tender and flavorful I've had, and the service was excellent too.

Then we ordered dessert and I got the biggest cinnamon roll I've ever seen! Seriously, I had already eaten some and look how much was left!

But my favorite part was our conversation. We talked about deep stuff, we talked about silly stuff, and we laughed a lot. And slowly over the evening, my heart started to grow three sizes bigger. Burdens and worries from the past few days lifted off my shoulder and I could feel a sense of peace again.

This is when I realized what husbands and wives are brought together for; when you're at your grinchiest, they are the ones that know how to put a smile back on your face and make you feel like you're on top of the world. Even if they have to take you all the way to Port A to a "country themed surf place with amazing barbeque" to do it :)
