Finally Done!

I finished my paper! I think it may be a piece of junk, but I'm okay with that. It turned out to be 12 pages, which makes my conscience feel good, and I did my best, which of course is all that counts in the end.

I have one more case study to do (which should seem as easy as pie after that paper) and then I'm done for the semester! Hooray to that!

**UPDATE**

My paper was soooo not a piece of junk! I only missed 5 points! O_O!!!

Will it Ever End?!

I am so frustrated with my paper. I'm losing hair. I'm losing sleep. I've become a complete grump to my family in recent days. It's all because of this paper!! (it could also be my lack of coping mechanisms, but we're not gonna go there :p )

I know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it is just so dim right now! It's even worse because I just don't think this is quality writing that I'm churning out. At the end of this paper, I'm not entirely sure I'll know anything new about Dialectical Behavior Theory or Borderline Personality Disorder or Schema Therapy.

I am so ready to be a human again, even for just a few weeks. I'm tired of being one of these grad student creatures who has too much on their plate and not enough time!

Got to go get Kaitlyn from school. Adios muchachos!

Paper Schmaper

Right now I am writing. I am writing a blog post. I am writing a blog post when I should be writing a research paper. A very long research paper.

I have a problem with procrastination. Somehow when something big is due, procrastination inevitably finds me. He sneaks up on me when I start to read my textbooks; he lurks around the corner when he sees me looking at class notes; he artfully looks out for any sign that I might be productive. Yes, procrastination is a very sly fella indeed.

And tonight he bounded and gagged me and drug me to my computer. He insisted I either meddle with blog stuff or play computer games. I chose the lesser of two evils.

I am going to fight back now, and go to sleep. I need to get some rest so I can try to beat procrastination at his own game tomorrow.

Grad School Blues

Okay...so I'm nearly done with my Master's of Science in Counseling. I'll graduate in Spring 2011. There are so few classes left to take. The problem is, I've become a lazy bum since Spring 2009 classes ended.

My professor for Psychometrics (really fancy psychological statistics class) has lost his marbles and assigned us to read 5 chapters (looong chapters) every night for three weeks. It's completely worth it...this is one more required class under my belt...but I don't want to read!

I want to dance like a goober with my husband in the living room, the only musical accompaniment being my singing

I want to go on long walks with our dogs and not have to worry about what time we get back

I want to stay up late with my daughter and watch funny movies while eating popcorn

I actually want to exercise!

I want to play tennnis

I want to write more letters

I want to play video games again

I want to sit on the couch doing nothing and have the great feeling of knowing there is nothing to do and no deadlines to do the nothing in

I want to be free of school and not have to go back today at noon, even though I love the two hour break from work

I want to live

But even though I want all these things, I also want to finish my Master's, get a better job, go on for my Doctorate (oh yay, more school! :| ), and accomplish this goal which I'm half-way through already. So I'll trudge through these muddy, constricting waters and come out a better person. Pray for me and wish me luck!
